Aswell as my own transformative journey, I also bring a lot of valuable professional experience to support my work. My passion for working with people in nature began during my time at university, where I graduated with an honours degree in Education Studies, with a particular specialism in eco - education and creative therapies, including elements of ecotherapy. Since then I've worked across the public and third sectors supporting people in mental health recovery through holistic, non-clinical programmes.
My career has spanned over twenty years in the health and wellbeing field in Suffolk and London. The settings have been varied and often challenging; from homeless hostels to hospitals, street outreach to youth clubs, schools , cafes, festivals, fields and woodlands! I have particular experience in asset based, trauma informed, recovery focused work that is underpinned by a belief that we have within us the resources to be well and stay well, but we often need a bit of help and guidance to get to that place. Throughout my work, wherever possible I've weaved in opportunities to bring people and the wilderness together. I know first hand, and have witnessed in others that the greatest transformations happen when people connect with nature, and as a result, back to themselves.
Much of my career has been in the design and delivery of award winning health and education programmes, as part of the management team of a Times top 100 employer and the UK's Best Companies 2nd best non-profit to work for. I've worked closely with clinical commissioning groups and other statutory organisations to develop person centred health programmes that have had hugely positive outcomes for individuals and communities.
Im also a level 3 qualified Wild beach leader, have completed accredited NatureWell training, and a Level 4 Advanced Pathway in Applied regenerative eco-psychology and nature based practice.
My curiosity for exploring the dynamic relationship between the earth and other living beings led me to explore ecosomatics, and I have completed various additional training to bring intuitive, body based movement practice into my approach as a way to deepen our enquiry and exchange with the rest of nature.
My offerings are varied and are designed to meet you where you are at on your journey of nature connection. I curate sessions and workshops to weave in the realms of nature, health and wellbeing, green care, natural wholeness, healing and growth and deeper nature & spiritual ecology.
Over the years Ive been drawn to various learning opportunities to support me to be the best practitioner I can be. In addition to my degree and my Eco therapeutic qualifications I also hold a Cert. Ed in Dual Diagnosis, Mental Health First Aid, Level 3 Advice and Guidance and Level 2 Counselling. Im an accredited Health Coach, Mindfulness practitioner and Mindfulness based life coach and have diplomas in Holistic approaches to pain management, Ayurveda, Naturopathy and Aromatherapy.
I have a deep, profound and reciprocal relationship with the Earth, and a strong personal practice that supports my own journey of healing, wholeness and growth. I work with the with the Wild Mind map developed by Bill Plotkin, and have completed a solo fasted vision quest.
It would be a pleasure to support you on your journey.
