Earth Body

Our body is deeply connected to the greater body of Earth, and through this to the cosmos. The feeling nature of our bodies has been overshadowed by dependency on rational thought and intellect in an attempt to figure out just what this life is all about!

By deepening into our body we find the wisdom that exists within us, and connect into an inner nature that is part of the wild earth. From this inner wild we can find resources and guidance that have been long lost in our over dependence on the rational mind.

Women's Day Retreat Programme

Meeting on the sacred land at Sinfield Trust we will walk across meadow and through copse to gather at waters edge, deep in magical silver birch woodland.

After a delicious grounding practice, and welcoming all to the circle we will begin with a somatic landscape practice, offering a chance to orientate to the land, arrive, and receive. Receiving the self, and receiving the landscape with curiosity, gently opening to the experience.

As we deepen the immersion into our surroundings, we move into an exploration of Summer through intuitive movement. Taking a journey of sensory wonder, allowing our bodies to be free in their movement in response to our own wildness and the wilderness around.

A seasonal, vegan lunch will then be served amongst the wild flowers, as we eat together and share our experiences of the morning - creating a safe space in which all who wish to be heard, will be held.

Our afternoon begins with an exploration  the trees of the woodland through sensory dialogue and come into relationship with our own animal body through soft, meditative movement.

We move then to  meadow, where we will source clay from the earth and enter into a touch focused exploration of earth body as it meets our body. Deepening into the sensory exploration, we will allow the clay to work our hands, rather than the other way round - yielding our earth body to the body of the earth.

We end the day with a relaxation and ceremony to welcome Summer Solstice, with an opportunity to walk the labyrinth, followed by a final moment of gratitude and sharing before, with blessed be, we depart.
